The economic burden of dementia in Canada, now at $15 billion a year, will increase tenfold to $153 billion.
But Canada has no plan to cope with the impact of this devastating disease.
Because Alzheimer’s disease is everybody’s business.
Our current supports and healthcare systems pale in comparison to the rapidly escalating health, economic and social demands being created by this devastating disease. Governments of many other countries have taken concrete steps to study dementia and its consequences, and many have made dementia a national priority. Canada has yet to take these steps.
Canada needs a plan! – a comprehensive, workable approach that dramatically improves the lives of people living with dementia.
